We should take a moment and be thankful for the confluence of events that has led to Donatas Motiejunas getting the amounts of minutes he has this year. If this were a normal, non-injury-riddled year for the Rockets, D-Mo would be languishing behind Dwight Howard, getting only relief minutes. T-Jones would be taking most of the minutes at power forward, removing the possibility of moving D-Mo from his natural position.
Instead, injuries have happened, and Donuts gets all the minutes and touches he could ever want. His post-ups are a featured part of the offense at times, with beautiful results. The only complaint with his performance this year is that there have not been enough sky hooks, but this only a minor gripe.
Actually, it's a major one. We demand more sky hooks!
