This week in Euroleague history, back in 2001, Carlton Myers of PAF Bologna tied the competition scoring record of 41 points in a quarterfinals series-clinching victory over Real Madrid.
In doing so, Myers matched the late Alphonso Ford's total from earlier in that season's playoffs.
The record has been tied twice again since Myers did it – by Kaspars Kambala of Efes Pilsen in 2002 and Bobby Brown of Montepaschi Siena in 2013 – but it has never been beaten.
And none of the four players who share the record had such good timing as Myers.
