At about 8:00 a.m. Sunday, January 15, 2012, there was an explosion freighter that had earlier departed from Incheon. The port city of Incheon is about 50 miles from Yeongpyeong Island, which was attacked by North Korean artillery in November 2010. 3 people are known to be deceased; 8 missing, and 5 were rescued (so far) by the South Korean navy.
The cause of the blast is unknown.
