Latvian historian Gatis Krūmiņš found previously secret archive documents that refute the myth created during the USSR period on the extensive investments of the Soviet Union in the economy of the Baltic States in the post-war period. According to the historian, the situation was quite the opposite: the USSR spent a significant part of the income received from the territory of the Baltic States outside its borders. Moreover, as stated by G. Krumins, it is the Baltic States that subsidized the countries that were part of the Soviet Union.
