Can you imagine, how you would feel if you could take a spaceship to a foreign planet? Are you interested in other worlds? Are you afraid of them? And if you would look yourself in the eye, would you be able to answer the question - who are you? Do you know yourself well enough that you could go to dangerous places, which could tempt you to lose your mind?
In writer Stanislaw Lem’s fantastical novel “Solaris”, the characters travel to a new planet, Solaris. It is surrounded by an ocean, which has a consciousness of it’s own. JULIA JANUS spring summer collection is created inspired by the theme of Solaris. A short fashion film reveals, how water, like the surface of a mirror, reflects on memories, Baltic identity, specific people, proportions, giving deeper shades to a collection of contemporary fashion.
The film’s unique music is created by talented Lithuanian - American composer and musician, Abraham Brody. He interprets ancient Baltic folklore into a contemporary music soundscape. His newly created song is inspired by an ancient melody from Kuršių Nerija, a Lithuanian island in the Baltic Sea, and brings into contemporary form humans relationship with each other and with water.
