In a heroic display of being absolutely hideous, a dog named Peanut has romped home to win the 2014 World's Ugliest Dog competition in Petaluma, California. With matted hair and an impressive set of protruding teeth, Peanut scooped the first prize of $1500 for his owner Holly Chandler. Like many of the other dogs present at the competition, Peanut was rescued from a shelter, having formerly been abused. Ms Chandler brought Peanut all the way from North Carolina for the competition. She says she plans to use the prize money earned by her grotesque pet to help other abused animals pay veterinarian bills. Report by Johnny Chiodini.
