Sand Art in the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia

2020-03-20 15:41
The sand art story you are about to see is based on a small book called ‘Through the Eyes of a Child’. The book contains drawings made by a small girl Benita Plezere. She was 11 years old when on 25 March 1949 she together with her family was deported from their home in Zemgale to a ‘special settlement’ beyond the Ural Mountains. Benita drew her impressions on the way to exile and sent them to her godmother in Latvia. This project is part of the modern culture forum "White Night in Riga 2016".
