There are thee legs of championship planned in total. The other two stages will be held in Trakai (2nd week fo February) and Curonian Spit -- Neringa later on. Snowkiters compete using snowboards or skis, both using power kites. The participants will meet six disciplines in total (in all 3 stages): 1. Cource Race, 2. Speed - 250 or 500 meters over the track section, 3. Marathon - a long endurance race, 4. Free-style - snowkiting with aerial acrobatics. 5. Kite Boarder Cross 6. Jibbing -- snowkiting using using the track objects - boxes, rails, pipes etc... The last two disciplines are new to the Grand Prix. "Every time we are working to plan the events in a way which is more and more attractive to the spectators, not only the participants. Public will be able to enjoy the complex, performed acrobatic stunts in the air, admire the Jibbing -- creative, freestyle overcome of obstacles to the participants - the rails, boxes, and other non-typical barriers - says event organizer, "Extreme sports.lt" representative, Eduardas Silva. For the first time in Lithuania we will run individual as well as team Snowkite Boardercross". According to E. Silva, it is expected that during this Grand Prix, new Lithuanian record of speed will be broken. "We hope that the speed will exceed last year's 63.4 km/h set by Justinas Žalys (snowboard class) and Arturas Gudauskas record of 72.64 km/h on skis. This year speed can reach up to 100 km/h but it is a big challenge even for very experienced professionals ", - said E. Silva. Organizers are expecting about one hundred of strongest snowkiting athletes from Lithuania to take part in event this year. There is no doubt that fighting for champion's title will be among strongest and long-lived title rivals: Arturas Gudauskas, Viktoras Šeputa, Arturas Morauskas, Povilas Vaisiauskas and others. These Lithuanian kiteboarders are well known in Baltic's as strong and technical rivals, and each year level is getting higher. So presence of these masters will guarantee a high technical level of performance. Last year, Lithuania snowkite championship was attended by over 70 of the sportsmen. Various contests improved skils, results and snowkite speed records. Registration of participants entering the competition will be held on Saturday Jan. 29 From 10.00 till 11.00.
