Tesla Model X - Falcon Wing Door Safety Features Explained, DEMO, TESTED and More! 4K

2016-09-13 10:31
Tesla Model X P90D Ludicrous Just got my new Model X a month and a half ago! I couldn't get enough videos on youtube when I was waiting for mine to get delivered! I want to return the favor so everyone can enjoy the eye candy! The goal is also to educate those of you who are still waiting for your cars or considering ordering one. This episode is about the safety features of the Model X famous Falcon Wing Doors! Not many people know of the technology and all the safety features they put into these doors. They are definitely over engineered. There are pinch sensors all along the front edge and rear edge except the wheel cut-out area. There are also capacitive sensors on the outside bottom edge that is sensitive to touch. It is only active when opening though and does nothing when closing. The last pair of sensors are the ones above the hinges of the falcon wing doors. These are the ones that are causing my phantom obstacles being detected. There are also pinch sensors in the front of the front doors. But in my testing they seem to be generating too much momentum and force to stop without hurting your fingers. The falcon wing doors on the other hand stop with no problem even when testing with my own fingers. There was a slight pinch, but it didn't hurt. Hope this was informative and hope you like these videos enough to subscribe for more! Let me know in the comments below what you want to see!
