Vérane Frédiani traveled to the four corners of the world to encounter female chefs innovating in gourmet cuisine, catering, or in the food professions. Throughout the film, we follow these women in the kitchens of great restaurants, at schools, and also on the street with street food, which is booming. We also cross paths with sommeliers, activists, female entrepreneurs who manage teams and fight daily to exist in male spheres, who promote sustainable development, equality, and who hope to change the world through their vision of cuisine.
These women above all consider that gastronomy is a means of communication with others, a means of educating people about their own culture, a way of extending their role in society, and of supporting local economies.
The film presents a new vision of the female chef, always dynamic and a fighter, always active, creative, traveling, cultivated, curious, sometimes rebellious, resisting methods but not exterior influences, the guardian of a certain tradition, sometimes solitary, or, indeed, unique.
