Can you cut the cross using two straight lines and then rearrange the pieces into a square?
The cross is essentially made up of five equal sized squares, joined together, where all sides are of equal length.
Using a pair of scissors, you have to cut the cross along two straight lines, and then rearrange all the pieces to make up one complete square, with no pieces left over.
SOLUTION:
Firstly you have to cut from vertex to vertex as shown in the video. The second cut is also from vertex to vertex, making four different pieces. We color code the pieces green, blue, yellow, and red to make it clear where they are moved to.
Finally, we rearrange each piece into a new position, as shown in the video, and make a perfect square!
