Sam Kendricks produced a successful defence of his IAAF World Athletics Championships gold medal in a thrilling men's pole vault final in Doha. Kendricks and Swedish sensation Armand Duplantis went toe-to-toe, both clearing 5.97m, but Kendricks' clean record through the earlier stages handed him the title.
