Now, Ukraine is reclaiming its traditions and distancing itself from russian influence by moving back to December 25th. This change, driven by a major church reform on September 1, 2023, reflects Ukraine’s desire for independence, especially after the full-scale invasion in 2022.
We’ll also explore key historical facts, including Ukraine’s union with russia, the role of the Bolsheviks in adopting the Gregorian calendar, and how these events have shaped our traditions today.
