After experiencing a terrible tragedy of loosing all of her limbs in a battle with bacterial meningitis and becoming a quadruple amputee, Karen Crespo, experienced yet another huge blow a year later when $100,000 worth of advanced prosthetic limbs were delivered and then stolen off of her doorstep.
After seeing the CARRIE HAMMER (http://www.carriehammer.com/) Role Models Not Runway Models show featuring the first ever model on a runway in a wheelchair she reached out to Carrie letting her know how the show inspired her and made her feel beautiful for the first time in years.
Carrie asked her to walk in her Fall runway show and after hearing of the tragedy of the stolen arms Carrie got involved and worked diligently with the manufacturer, Hanger, to get the arms replaced in time for the 2014 Fall Fashion show.
Karen will grace the runway in her new advanced Hanger prosthetic limbs on September 5th in a dress designed for and named after her!
