(English text and song lyrics below) THE ROOP pristato naują Eurovizijai skirtą kūrinį - “On Fire”. “Šių metų daina yra apie tai, ką jau kelis metus savyje nešioju, stebiu aplinkoje. Tai - per greitas savęs "nurašymas". Mes per dažnai save nuvertiname. Manome, kad neatitinkame standartų ar esame neįdomūs, per jauni, per seni,” - sakė grupės lyderis Vaidotas Valiukevičius. Kalbėdamasis su vienu muzikos prodiuseriu, Vaidotas sužinojo, kad dažnai pas prodiuserius atvykę dvidešimtmečiai teigia besijaučiantys per seni kažko pasiekti. Atlikėjas mano, kad jaunystės kultas mūsų šalyje yra per didelis ir neadekvatus. “Žmonės, sulaukę 30 metų, jau jaučiasi be laiko pasenę ir beviltiški. Manau tai nėra normalu. Pats su tokiomis mintimis taip pat susidūriau, bet stengiuosi keisti savo požiūrį, dirbti su dar didesne energija nei tuomet, kai man buvo 20. Šia daina noriu ir savo klausytojams nusiųsti pasitikėjimo bei geros energijos. Mes visi galime būti kuo norime, tada kada norime, ir amžius neturi reikšmės” – sakė Vaidotas. Pasak grupės, dainos pavadinimas “On Fire” (I'm on fire) reiškia jaustis pakylėtai, aistringai, susidomėjusiai, būti pilnam jėgų. Nuotaikingą dainos vaizdo klipą kūrė režisierė Indrė Juškutė ir operatorius Adomas Jablonskis. “Dažnai esame stebimi aplinkinių lyg per padidinamąjį stiklą, savęs ieškome kitų žmonių atspindžiuose, visuomenės nuomonėse, svetimuose žvilgsniuose ir labai dažnai - tas vaizdas būna nepilnas, kreivas. Tačiau kai pradedi pasitikėti savimi - atspindžiai tampa tiesiog žaidimu” - apie klipo idėją pasakojo režisierė Indrė. THE ROOP nariai paklausti, ar yra pasiruošę atstovauti Lietuvą, drąsiai sako “taip”. Jų stiprybė -amžius, patirtis, komanda ir profesionalumas. --- THE ROOP are introducing their brand-new Eurovision song – “On Fire”. “This year’s song is about something I carried within and observed around myself. It’s about writing yourself off too quickly. We are underestimating ourselves too often. We think we don’t meet some standards or that we are uninteresting, too young, too old.” – said leader of the band Vaidotas Valiukevičius. While talking to one music producer, Vaidotas learned that rather often people in their early twenties come to producers but declare feeling too old to achieve something. The singer believes that the youth cult is too big and inadequate. “People in their thirties already feel untimely aged and hopeless. I believe this is not normal. I faced such thoughts myself, but I strived to change my approach to things, put more energy into my activities than I did when I was 20. With this song I wish to send my listeners confidence and good vibes. We are all capable of being who we want, when we want, and age is not important” – told Vaidotas. According to the band, the name of the song “On Fire” means being in the state of excitement, feeling passionate, engaged and full of energy. The vibrant music video was produced by director Indrė Juškutė and cinematographer Adomas Jablonskis. “We are often observed by others as if through a magnifying glass, we search for ourselves in reflections of other people, in the public opinion, in gazes of strangers, and most frequently the image is incomplete, crooked. But when you gain confidence, reflections become nothing but a game” – director Indrė describes the idea of the video. Members of THE ROOP, if asked whether they are ready to represent Lithuania, boldly say “yes”. Their strengths – age, experience, the team and professionalism.
